In 2007, Vickie Florschuetz decided to use her portraits skills to help others by founding Bravery Project®, which specializes in custom portraits of domestic violence and abuse survivors. Through this 501c3 nonprofit organization, the public learns about the complex issues of abuse, not from an authority figure, but right from the survivors themselves in a truthful and uplifting mannerPresentation by Fix The Hurt founder, Linda King April 21, 2010 11:30am—1:00 pm Peoria City Hall- Pine Room 8401 W. In September 2001, Linda and John King experienced a great tragedy in their life when their daughter was murdered. Linda began working harder to make her voice heard in the community. In 2007 Linda formed Fix the Hurt Corp, a not-for-profit, domestic violence awareness and prevention organization. Fix the Hurt has developed numerous programs for presentation to schools, corporations, civic organizations and the prison system. Come and join the Peoria Police Department as we address domestic violence and help “FIX THE HURT”.
